Public Education Unit and Responsibilities

PUBLIC EDUCATION UNIT
The mission of the Public Education Unit is to promote fire and life safety education for the general public by encouraging citizens to be proactive in preventive measures in life safety, thereby reducing the number of emergency related injuries and/or deaths in all areas of our city.
Responsibilities
The Kennett Fire Department's (KFD) Public Education Unit is committed to providing communities with fire and life safety education. We believe in the power of prevention and education and offer a wide range of services. Our aim is to reduce life and property loss in our communities through education. We have found that by educating those who live and work in Kennett we can save lives and further improve the quality of life for our residents. The KFD's Public Education Unit provides a wide range of educational programs at no cost and has professional, trained personnel who conduct fire safety and prevention programs at pre-school, grade school, community organization and businesses
